|Hi,Our police work hard to enforce all laws, but they are never 100% successful in enforcing any particular law, although they don’t stop trying. The police have an entire year to write tickets for stickers sold this spring. It is much more reasonable to expect them to write 100 tickets a month for 12 months than 1200 tickets in one month. Our force has to prioritize their work and take the most serious offenses first and then fill in the rest as time permits. Please allow them to use the full year they have to work on these tickets. We have also found that writing the tickets does not mean that people will comply. We are looking at ways to force these people to both buy their stickers and pay their fines. Within a few months we plan to pass an ordinance that allows either booting or towing for those who ignore tickets.I understand that citizens who follow the rules can be frustrated by those who don’t, but we cannot give up in our quest to have a safe and orderly society.Ed Ritter

Subject: Cars with NO stickers still visible.. more than 3/4 houses, on any given street

|Hello, me again..
Just to say that writing down all the houses/addresses with no city stickers would go thru all the ink in a package of Bic pens.. many are parked.. some even in the street at very early hours.. neighbor`s RED truck is still in the driveway with NO sticker.. would seem to me that a slow steady drive down ANY street would show that most cars are sticker-less… some even having last years.. which is a no brainer that this car is a C`ville car.. middle of August and same cars.. same trucks, same houses… no stickers.. I think next year they should be banned.. so that those that actually pay for them can then save hard earned money also. This is not an enforceable ordinance.. so why have it? Very unfair..
Me again.. Just driving up and down the streets in the Indian Section of Carpentersville.. We spotted at least 90% or more cars either did NOT have a current city sticker.. some had NO stickers at all.. what is going on? Why is it fair to those who actually purchase these things? We are not on public aid, do not get food stamps, do not live in Habitat for Humanity houses.. nor are we on section 8. For some reason, WE purchase our “ must have“ stickers.. abide by the rules… and it really burns me as well as other residents that this issue is still not addressed. If WE can see that cars parked IN the street all day and then IN the driveway at night do NOT have stickers, how is this “ issue“ not corrected? I know for a fact that friends of mine have been targeted.. and every one of their cars is stickered, licensed and insured.. what is going on? It seems to me that the only people who are actually purchasing these things are the ones who have done so in the past… again.. WE as Carpentersville residents..are NOT too happy with the lack of enforcement on this and many other issues.. not directing this at one board member, just sending it to all. Seems that when something like this goes on, it is a slap in the face to those of us who have purchased them all along.. like I said, when I first moved out here, cops were stationed at all exits..not that hard.. they checked.. I was impressed.. thought that was great.. now at least 90% of the cars/trucks etc, that are clearly LOCAL.. are not forced to purchase these.. refunding the money paid by those who have paid for years would make a nice down payment on a new house in a different neighborhood.. again..another issue that could and would cut down on the neglected vehicles.. and the parking of cars all over the property.. yet nothing is done.. thanks again for a job well done.. ha ha..
I am just wondering why Carpentersville, can`t seem to find the time to monitor and cite those who are in flagrant disregard of village ordinances?
So many vehicles have NO city stickers. Most have none.. and the ones I can see from just driving by, are still PINK.. how is that not noticeable? I have sent letters, contacted board members.. only four people connected with village issues have responded to any of my emails. I voted for Ed.. he has NEVER once replied to any of my emails..regarding city issues.
Why have an email address accessible to the residents if no replies will be sent? I find it very sad that with the village in such financial disrepair, the streets in horrible condition, that the revenue generated by city stickers is not enforced. I have lived here for over 20 years.
This town WAS a nice place to live. Not so anymore. When the first thing you encounter on Helm and 25 is an obstacle course to avoid potholes, it is not a good “ plus“ for moving here. So many homes with obvious code violations and nothing is done. These issues have been noticeable from the street. I get no response from the village..none.. Just a shame.. a real shame.
I also have had a not so friendly neighbor for about 15 years now. HIS tree has now grown up to my fence.. he refuses to do anything about it. Any ideas? We have huge trees here, and to me, he needs to take care of it. I have a chain link fence and this tree will also block access to my back yard. It is within inches of touching MY gutter on my garage.. if anybody has any ideas.. please contact me. I do not want any more issues with this person, but for 15 years I have raked and raked, cleaned up branches.. etc, all the while this tree gets bigger and bigger. It is now ready to do damage to my actual property, IE fence and garage gutter.
Help.. if you know of a solution.. thanks..
