I’ve read the papers today and what a bunch of Sarto craziness, but besides that I am seeing a great plan for the Tamarac Property. I was unaware that Carpentersville intended on moving the Police station to that location along with the Public works and a training area for our Firefighters. I think this progress is to be noted after all the bad publicity. I commend our Village Officials and our Village employees for creating such a plan and moving forward with it.

Carpentersville eyes Tamarac plans
CARPENTERSVILLE — The village board cleared the way to seek architectural and engineering services to create a detailed plan for an estimated $22 million public works facility and police department building at the old Tamarac Crossing site last night.

Where are we going to get all this money to build the Public Works building? Let’s concentrate first on our decaying infrastructure, before we worry about our Public Works trucks catching a cold from being left outside.
Just my thoughts,

You’re Funny Brenda,
Lets raise so more taxes? Seriously, the planning should start. That doesn’t mean we build it now, but we need a plan for the Future.Although It is a deviation from the comprehensive plan. As far as I know the Police station was suppose to stay where the Village Hall is and the Village Hall was suppose to move across Besinger drive where the old thresher pools use to be.

Right now Richard, due to the economic downturn, I’m against raising any taxes or fees in Carpentersville.
We need to concentrate on our number #1 problem, the streets, sidewalks, storm lines and the other decaying and out of date infrastructure in Carpentersville.
THEY [the staff] want not only a new Public Works building to house all their trucks and vehicles, but a new administration building to be attached to the multiple garages for the vehicles. THEY [the staff] want a new Police Department on the same site. THEY [the staff] want a new Fire Department, with all the new fangled training facilities to go with the Fire Department.
We’re talking TENS of Millions of dollars in new Bonds to be issued. We would carry way to much debt! This would only tax our senior citizens right out of Carpentersville.
Fire Chief Shuldt did have a plan, that would not only NOT cost the taxpayers any money, but would become a revenue stream for Carpentersville. His plan would be to build a four story smoke building for training Fireman. This facility would be used by all Fire Departments from around the Fox Valley and elsewhwere. This building would be built entirely by grants. Whenever another Fire Department would request to use the four story Smoke Building they would be charged approximately four thousand dollars for 4 hours of use.
AND, since this four story building would be built close to the sewage treatment plant, rumor has it that Public Works Director Bob Cole will perfume the smoke from this training facility to cover-up the smell from the sewage treatment plant. Now that’s what I call a MASTER PLAN!
Just my thoughts,
Brenda
