Some may say that Illegal Immigration is a Federal Issue but I beg to differ. Obviously the Federal government has realized it alone cannot enforce all of the Immigration laws by itself. So the Federal government has set up programs for Employers and Local law enforcement to assist in enforcing Immigration laws through the use of these federal programs.
Some also say that it cost to much in legal fees to enact Ordinances that offend the ACLU and other Socialistic groups who think we should just allow Illegal Immigration to continue along with all the associated costs that burden the US tax paying citizen.
Here in Carpentersville nobody truly knows how much money it costs the Village, School districts, Hospitals, food pantry’s, Public Aid etc. In order th quantify a problem you first must have Data. How many Illegals are receiving these Services? This is the sad part, all of the agencies involved in giving out services to people cannot ask their Citizen status therefore there are no statistics, this in itself it the beginning of the problem which the Illegal Aliens and their sympathizers love. No statistical data that there is a quantified problem up front.
We can only tell that there is a problem by the after affects of Illegal Immigration at this time.
Gang activity, Drugs, Guns and Violence increases.
House values drop unequally in areas where there is high numbers of Illegals.
“Spanish only” stores open reducing the amount of residents that would normally go to a Jewel, Eagle. Payless shoes or maybe even a Dominicks forcing these Large chains store to vacate the area to a place where they can still have customers that speak English.
School score’s drop, School administration costs Increase, free Breakfast and Lunches Increase.
Dual Language programs are enacted to teach Children that can only speak in their native language, more costs.
Hospitals costs and waiting times increase. The Hospitals must raise their rates for the paying people to offset the costs incurred by the non-payers who use the emergency room as their Doctors office.
The Roads are more dangerous, For the Illegal Aliens who don’t have the proper education and language skills, drive anyway without licenses, Insurance and drive slower than the posted speed limit leaving Individuals who may have an accident or worse yet injury causing further Individual costs.
Employers love Illegal immigration, it keeps their wages low but also increases the unemployment percentage of the legal US worker and decreases their potential wage earnings.
Politicians ignore the legal Citizens and the costs that are shoved down our throats and claim it would cost to much to enact Immigration Ordinances when we as Individual Taxpayers and consumers are already paying for all of the above extras that are given to Illegal Aliens and their offspring.
The Goal would be enacting strict Immigration rules at the State, County and local level as some already have. That would reduce the costs to the Individual Tax paying consumer.
Farmers Branch, Texas has enacted several Ordinances to address their problem and has payed over $700,000 in legal fees defending their stand and continues because the people think it’s an Investment in the Future and can reduce Individual costs for years to come!
It’s Better to stop it now than let the US Taxpaying consumer continue to pay for all of the mistakes and irresponsibility of these lazy, mindless, excuse making politicians who say it’s “Not my Job”!
Well evidently some have done what others say couldn’t be done. Arizona, Oklahoma etc.
Illinois is not exactly in the forefront of solving it’s increasingly Citizens payments to one of the largest Illegal Immigrant populations not on the Mexico/ USA border.
