Carpentersville’s unfinished sub-division and River front

The Rivers End sub-division better known as Lincolnwood Manor built decades ago still has an unfinished Fox River drive.

This week I walked along the existing Easement where there are Fire Hydrants, functional utility poles and sewer Lines all on an easement set aside for Fox River drive which was never completed or even started, except for all the Utilities.

It caught my eye when I noticed some work that has been going on the Sewer system in that easement area with no vehicle access, temporary drives were put in place so the Boys who are servicing the sewer lines could gain access to the over grown, looks like a dump site easement area.

Further down the easement I found a Carpentersville Sanitary lift station down a dirt path within 75 feet of the west side of the Fox river. The Station is still operable along with the sewer lines that are below the unimproved easement surface.

I guess my question would be, why? This should be on the Villages agenda to finish the Road, or turn it into usable open space. Possibly with a path for maintenance of all the Utilities plus a clean recreation area for Residents.

Right now it’s obvious, know one is taken care of this area. You will notice by the pictures that this has become a dumping ground for trash and whatever. You can also see that there berms and other areas that are dug up and never leveled off just like an Overgrown construction site that was never finished.

There are signs that the Forest preserve owns the property close to the river and it is federally identified as a floodplain. There should be know reason why Carpentersville cannot finish or Improve this riverfront area.
